This is VERY IMPORTANT – please read this carefully and make sure you understand each point.
The single most important action we can all take, in fighting coronavirus, is to stay at home in order to protect the NHS and save lives. When we reduce our day-to-day contact with other people, we will reduce the spread of the infection.
You SHOULD stay at home. You should only go out to do the following if it is absolutely necessary:
These four reasons are exceptions – even when doing these activities, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring you are AT LEAST 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your household. These measures must be followed by everybody.
Continue to stay home if you have either:
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS – We are also taking further measures in order to protect our Staff & Community. Until further notice, we will no longer be accepting paper prescriptions. Instead, Patients will have to order online or request their Prescription over the phone.
We understand this is a very difficult time for everybody, but we ask our patients to stick to these measures the best they can.
An incorrect post is currently circulating on Facebook that says all COPD and Asthma patients can get a Rescue Pack from their GP Surgery containing a supply of Steroids and Antibiotics.
This information is incorrect and is causing a high volume of calls to the surgery at an already incredibly busy time.
‘Rescue Packs’ are available for certain patients with respiratory conditions only and these patients should already have their supply in place or be able to request it via electronic prescription request service or usual channels.
I just wanted to let you know that from Monday 23rd March, we have had to take the decision to close Bishopsteignton Surgery to patients on a temporary basis. I unfortunately cannot state at this moment when we will look to reopen, but we will review this weekly. This has been a very difficult decision as we know how valued we are, but we are trying to ensure that we protect our team & the local community by ensuring that we are able to provide patient care in what are extremely challenging & exceptional circumstances. Trying to maintain a safe level of care at three sites is starting to put huge pressure on our GP & Nursing Team & we have to ensure that we keep them in work so that we can continue to treat all of our patients. You will still be able to see a GP if required at our Teignmouth & Chudleigh Branch Sites.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
