We issue 2 types of prescription -
Current prescriptions
These are prescriptions which the doctor issues during a consultation and are
not intended to be repeated.
Repeat prescriptions
Please note, we do not
accept telephoned script requests. This is in line with most other surgeries as
we feel that phoned requests can lead to errors with similar sounding drugs.
- Leave request slip in repeat prescription Post Boxes in all the
surgeries
- Send your request to the surgery by post
- On line.
- Fax details of drugs needed to any surgery.
If the doctor intends a prescription to be repeated in the future, he/she will tell you. You will find the name of the drug appears with the names of any other authorised repeats in the right-hand side of your prescriptions. Keep this tear
off request slip.
When you need a repeat, tick those drugs needed on the slip and leave the
slip at the surgery in one of our repeat post boxes. You may also request on
line or by fax or by post.
If the drug was a previous current prescription (ie. not on the right-hand
side), we will not be able to issue it. If you feel it is essential, the doctor
will have to give permission first. In this situation, please ask the
receptionist to ask the doctor. The receptionist will ask you why you need it. If you are unable to tell her, you will need to see a doctor.
When ordering an authorised repeat prescription, you should specify whether you want to collect it yourself
(and specify a surgery) or have it sent to a chemist. Please allow 48 hours for your request to be processed. We send to the following chemists routinely. Prescriptions ordered at -
Teignmouth: Boots, Lloyds (Teignmouth), Maunders,
Numark, Shaldon (Tuesdays & Fridays only).
Bishopsteignton: Ross Chemists
Chudleigh: Lloyds (Chudleigh).

- State your full name and address.
- The chemist you want your script sent to.
- The drugs you want - listed on the right-hand side of your previous
prescription.
