Please allow 48 hours (excluding weekends) from the time your request is received at the practice to collection from the Surgery. If your prescription is going directly to the pharmacy please allow a further 24 hours for collection. If you are not using the right-hand-side of your previous prescription, please remember to give us your full name, address, medication required and the Chemist or Surgery from which you would like to collect the prescription.
We operate a yearly review of repeat prescriptions. If the doctor considers your prescription may need some amendment, we will write to you inviting you to make an appointment to discuss this.

Tick the appropriate box(s) on the right-hand-side of your previous repeat prescription, or complete a Repeat Prescription form (available from reception). Please post in the “Repeat Prescription” box in reception, put through the letter box out of hours, or send by post.

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

Important changes when ordering your repeat prescriptions.
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve processes we are streamlining our prescription ordering procedures.
Currently you may receive your medication from your pharmacy using a “managed repeat” ordering scheme. This system can be wasteful because many people may not use the expected amount that is dispensed to them. To avoid this waste, your GP surgery is changing its ordering process to ensure that only what you actually need is ordered. The best way for this to happen is for you (or your carer) to order your medicine 5 working days before you need it. You (or your carer) are the best people to do this as you will know what medication you have at home.
We are asking that the request comes directly to the practice from you on every occasion. If other businesses suggest that they can do this on your behalf, please disregard this or speak to your surgery.
If you do not use your pharmacy to re-order your medications automatically, you are not affected by this change
If you feel you have extenuating circumstances and cannot order for yourself, please contact the Reception Team.
Patients with Blister Packs will not be affected and patients who already order directly with us, nothing will change.
What do you need to do?
You will now need to order your medication yourself using the repeat prescription ordering form (white repeat counterfoil / repeat piece / white slip) or online. If you have access to a computer, please contact your usual surgery and we will ensure that you are signed up for online repeat prescriptions. We encourage you to do this. A friend, relative or carer can order your medication online on your behalf with your permission.
We ask you to only order medicine when needed, check how many days’ medicine you have before ordering a new prescription. Please aim to order when you have 5 - 7 days of medicines left. This is important because your GP requires at least 2 working days to provide the prescription and your pharmacy will need 3-5 days after receiving the prescription to order and assemble it for collection.
When is this happening? The changes will start to take place from 1st November 2017
