To contact a Doctor in an emergency when the surgery is closed please telephone NHS Devon on 111. Calls to this number will be recorded. If you ring your usual surgery number at this time, you will be told how to contact the out-of-hours service.

Please remember this service should be reserved for genuine emergencies only.

Exeter NHS Walk-in Centre

You can also see an experienced nurse for treatment of minor injuries and illnesses, seven days a week, at Exeter NHS Walk-in Centre, Bedford Street (07:30 to 18:00) or the Walk-in Centre at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, Wonford (07:00 to 22:30). You do not need an appointment.

NHS 111

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS Devon on 111. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
