CHANNEL VIEW COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

We endeavor to give you the best service possible at all times but there may be occasions when you feel that you wish to express dissatisfaction. The purpose of this document is to explain what to do if you have a complaint about the service the Practice provides for you.

We offer an in-house procedure to deal with your concerns. This procedure does not deal with matters of legal liability or compensation but we hope that you will use it to give us an opportunity of looking into and, if necessary, correcting any problems that may have arisen or mistakes that have been made.

Using the procedure does not affect your right to complain to DevonPrimary Healthcare Trust if you wish and the appropriate contact address for the Trust is printed below.

Please note that we have to respect our duty of confidentiality to patients and a patient's consent will be necessary if a complaint is not made by the patient directly.

If you wish to make a complaint, please contact our Practice Manager, Mrs Susan Hedley either directly or by telephone or letter if you prefer.   If she is not available at the time, she or her deputy will make contact with you within two working days from receipt of the complaint. She will take full details of your complaint and decide how best to undertake any necessary investigation.

We will address your concerns fully and provide you with a written explanation within 10 working days. We trust that upon receipt of our letter, you will feel satisfied that the matter has been resolved. If you are still dissatisfied, it may be prudent to arrange a meeting with you, Mrs Hedley and one of our Partners.  If resolution of your complaint by Channel View Surgery is not possible, you can contact the Complaints Manager at Devon PCT for a review of the complaint.
